Pray the Path

During the 2006 Lenten season 102 people walked the Portico's Labryinth.

Stay tuned for new prayer labyrinth experiences coming later this summer and for Advent 2006.

Walk at your own pace, stop at 11 stations for prayer and meditation.
Take advantage of kneeling rugs, or use the benches at different stations.
An audio CD guides you through the Labyrinth.
Take as much, or as little, time as you need for God to speak to you in our Labyrinth.
Young and old alike find meaning in the prayers and rituals at each station.
Combined with the audio guide, each station is powerful and meaningful.
Your prayers for others are given new meaning as you light candles to symbolize those prayers.
The physical senses are as important as thoughts and feelings while praying the path.
At the exact center is "Holy Space." Stop and let God refresh your soul before the outward journey.
Beyond the hustle outside, this is a quiet, safe, and restful place.
Each prayer station can draw you further along your spiritual journey.
The inward journey is as important as the actual prayer walking of the path.
No one open to God's presence leaves the Labyrinth unmoved.
Each prayer station is designed to fit into the complete experience in meaningful ways.
The journey through the labyrinth averages 30 minutes to an hour, but there's no time limit. Take as much time as you and God need.
Each station is an attempt at both meaningful activity and aesthetic beauty. God's presence is always beautiful.
While there is a limit to the number of people who can walk our labyrinth at one time, there are futher meditations happening on the screens while waiting.
The Lenten ritual of imposition of ashes will be available throughout the season at the end of the labyrinth. These ashes are especially meaningful.
"Impressions" - the final station in the labyrinth. An especially meaningful way to complete the journey
"What will be left when we've gone?"
One way to experience the labyrinth is to take time to pray for all the others walking with you.
Don't think of our labyrinth as a "one time thing." New meanings and experiences await each time you pray the path.
The mixture of audio, visual, tactile, and physical senses all combine to make praying the path an unforgettable experience.
The unique combination of all the senses allows one to experience prayer in a powerfull and holistic way.
Our hope is for the prayer path to be a fresh way for you to experience God's presence this Lenten season
Stop by The Portico sometime and let us offer you our hospitality this Lenten season!
