Why All The Artwork Everywhere?  

If one of the major marks of modernity was the elevation of the printed and spoken word above all other forms of communication, then perhaps one of the hallmarks of the church emerging is a sense of recapturing the ways images, pictures, and art can communicate spiritual truth.

In that sense, all the pictures and artwork that appear in various places on The Portico website are one way of communicating some of the unique essence of who we are. In some ways, every picture used here attempts to convey a sense of journey, movement, and discovery.

Whether it be a door that immediately captivates your imagination as to what lies beyond; or an open space that draws your eyes to an as yet undiscovered place; we want our community to be one that speaks visually of the journey of discipleship as we follow God's leading.
